THE INVITATION
By Leola Sellers, Former Women’s Ministries

“. . . Thou shalt seek the Lord thy God, thou shalt find him, if thou seek him with all thy heart and with all thy soul” (Deuteronomy 4:29).
This scripture is written to us personally from God. He more than anything desires to spend time with us. God would like to bring us into another realm, into another dimension of His glory. As women of God, we must realize we are in the year of the presence of the Lord and He is longing to have a deeper relationship with us. In the times in which we live, an intimate relationship with Christ is all that will take us through. He is the only one we can trust in times like these.
In order to have an intimate relationship with Christ, quiet time must be spent with Him. We need to embrace quiet time in our lives and choose to make stillness in the presence of the Master a part of our lives. We must come aside and seek the face of God. But, to do this we must let go of the housework, errands, shopping, dinner, ballgames and busy schedules, etc. Is it not peculiar that whenever you want to steal away with God: the phone rings, someone comes to the door, the baby is crying. It is like something always needs our immediate attention when we want to spend time with God. The Lord is longing to speak to us again. He used to speak to many of us and use us in the gifts of the Spirit. It is His longing to show us dreams and visions again and words of wisdom and knowledge. We make all kinds of excuses saying that we are too busy to spend time with the lover of our souls. Oh, how He loves you and me.
God is looking for us to consistently cry loud for the salvation of our families, communities and world. We need to press in until He answers, until there is a rumbling in the heavens on our behalf. He is looking for us to pray until the person we are praying for is changed. We must be steadfast to pray until we see God move. God is calling us to come out from the crowd. He is calling us into the deep place, and when we get there, no praise leader or preacher will have to tell us it is Him, we will know.
We must set a regular time to meet with God. This set time is different for everyone—some people meet Him mid-morning and some even meet Him at twelve midnight. There is no right or wrong time. There are things that can only be accomplished as we meet the Lord in the quiet. It is in our quiet times that we get a handle on so many of the challenging aspects of our lives.
We must remember the grace that worked for us yesterday will not work today; we need a fresh touch of God everyday. Will you join me in finding our prayer room again?
