JANUARY HOLIDAY IDEA/CHALLENGE
By: Pamela Kay Overbey

LET’S WALK TO SAN ANTONIO
January is a month for new beginnings—a time to reflect on the past, present and future. As you reminisce on the past, take inventory of the present and establish goals for the future– 2008, I would like to propose a challenge.
If one of your goals is to be in better physical shape, especially with the upcoming General Assembly, I would like to suggest “walking” as one of the ways to make this a reality rather than just a dream. It is not expensive, difficult or too tasking. According to MapQuest, the distance from the International Offices to San Antonio is 1,042 miles.

Include a friend, or a group of women, split the mileage and it won’t seem like an impossible task. Some of you may be able to create a fund raiser, make this a special time to pray for the General Assembly and develop new friendships.

We will have 183 days, beginning January 7 and ending July 7, 2008. Daily walk a mile, two or more and keep track of how many miles you walk. If you desire to accept the challenge, let me know by email: pkoverbey@churchofgod.org. I would like to make a
group contact and keep those involved updated on our project.

As the scripture relates, “I beseech you therefore, brethren [women], by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world; but be ye transformed by the
renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
