December 2008 — Resources
By Debbie Ivester, State Women’s Ministries President, Kentucky
What would we do without resources to help us out in time of need! I don’t know about you, but resources help me in just about everything I do. I heard someone say that nothing is original. It is a spin off of some other person’s idea. I believe this. We can take off on a nugget we’ve heard from someone else and come up with various themes, ideas, etc. So this is why we all need resources—especially in ministering to women.
I think the greatest resource we have is each other. I get so much out of talking to friends, listening to what they do, taking their idea and turn it into what will work in my state or region. Don’t be afraid to ask what they have found that works for them. You never know what you will come up with.
There are so many resources available through the Internet. You can “Google” and find many helpful Web sites to go to. Some Web sites I would suggest are:
www.pastorswife.com
www.girlfriendsunlimited.com
www.ministrywomen.net
www.ideasforwomensministry.com
We are very fortunate that we have our very own resource section on the International Women’s Ministries Web site. You can find almost anything there that you will need to see your Women’s Ministries move forward.
