Ladies Ministries Convention in Nigeria—May 17-20, 2007
By Felicia Offiong Ibok, West Africa
Greetings are being extended to you and family in the name of the Lord.
This is a report of the Ladies Convention of Church of God Nigeria which took place on May 17-20, 2007, at Full Gospel Church of God Headquarters, Abak Nigeria. Attached are photographs of while I was ministering, choristers seated, altar call, group of eight LM board members with me, Bishop Spence praying for women at the altar.
The theme of the convention was “The Positive Command” based on 2 Corinthians 6:17, 18. That is, the positive command to come out from the world and be separate, living holy lives for the Lord.
An average of 1,000 women attended the convention from several parts of Nigeria. The opening service was on May 17, 2007. Activities included teachings by day. This is was into two groups, English and Vernacular. Each group’s teacher expatiated on the convention's theme.
I served as general supervisor during the day and guest speaker in the evening evangelistic services. In the first night there were general prayers for God to help God's women to come out of the world and be separate. The second night witnessed an approximate number of 400 women who came to the altar, weeping and praying for total sanctification. The night of Saturday, May 19 there were specifically 40 women baptized with the Holy Spirit, while several rededicated themselves to the service of the Lord.
Problem
Women prayed generally for the re-unification of the Church of God congregations in the country.
Progress
The women of the Full Gospel Church of God in Nigeria are planning to buy a 28-seater bus for evangelism.
On Sunday May 20, the administrative bishop, Bishop Clifford Spence gave a message on the theme, “The Positive Command.”
Appreciation
Please thank you very much for all your prayers and support.
May God bless you.
